For sale is a vintage Cheney huge carpenters hammer, with a ball bearing nail holding curved claw, weighing 2lbs.8.9 oz. overall, with handle. Signed with the likely remnants of "Cheney Little Falls New York U.S.A.", the head measures 5-5/8" long, with a 1-3/8" diameter face, and a 1-1/2" wide claw. The steel is very good condition, but showing uses and wear on one side, as shown in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th pictures. The 13-1/4" handle is sound and solid, but not stamped at the bottom, likely making it a replacement handle. This hammer, described in the Cheney catalog as a No. 2 nailer, is the largest and heaviest of the Cheney nailers, with its massive 32 ounce head, and it is a very difficult to find hammer in any condition.
